Toronto, ON: The Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Canada’s leading convention and trade show facility, announced today that its South Building is undergoing a $23 million renovation and modification.

The modification will create 10 new meeting rooms, offering events 13,000 square feet of additional contemporary and flexible space in the South Building. Designed to enhance event experiences, the project will provide meetings with redesigned registration areas, an impressive digital experience, a new escalator and service elevator to improve the vertical movement of attendees and exhibitors, updated lighting, a revamped café space, and modern interior design finishes consistent with the recently updated North Building.

tvsdesigns and IA Interior Architects (IA), leaders in convention centre design and architecture, will guide the multi-phased project to completion in early 2018. Our partner, tvsdesigns, led the successful North Building renovation and designed four of the top five convention centres in North America. Once complete, the South Building will reflect a state-of-the-art space inspired by representations of natural elements.

The project will include the installation of operable walls between a few spaces to create another flexible 8,000 square feet meeting room. The operable walls will open up spaces and allow for events to expand and flow into the pre-function areas.
