Toronto welcomes back Electrical Apparatus Service Association for Annual Convention

Toronto, ON: Toronto is rolling out the welcome mat for the return of the Annual Convention of the Electrical Apparatus Service Association (EASA), which last held their event in the city more than 15 years ago. The 2016 meeting will take place from June 12 to 14 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, and with approximately 2,500 people expected in attendance, and one of the largest exhibit showings in EASA’s history, an estimated $7.1 million will be brought to the city in local spending.

An exciting and dynamic schedule of education sessions, open forums, and networking opportunities await convention delegates. This year’s convention theme, E3: Educate, Experience, and Engage, will allow attendees the opportunity to engage in sessions designed to improve a range of skill sets, learn what’s new in the industry, and connect with colleagues, opening the door to new partnerships. “The meeting also acts as a family reunion,” says Dale Shuter, CMP, Meetings & Expositions Manager of EASA. “It’s a great opportunity to network and catch up with colleagues and friends from all over the world.”

As mentioned, one of this year’s stand-out highlights is the exhibit hall, the second largest ever to be featured at EASA’s annual conventions. Boasting more than 205 exhibitors, the show floor will showcase the latest materials, equipment, and state-of-the-art technology in the industry. “This is really the one time of year our members can not only see what is new, but also touch and assess how these latest products and technologies function,” explains Shuter. “It is also a great opportunity for our member distributors to meet with the key representatives of the manufacturers they represent.”

While EASA’s primary convention goal is to provide members the tools needed to enhance their performance in the industry, the association is also encouraging them to step outside and make the most of their time in Toronto. “We have a number of tours planned for our members and their accompanying guests,” says Shuter. “So we definitely hope they take advantage of their time here and go out and experience what’s going on in and around Toronto.”

“It’s a pleasure to welcome back EASA for their Annual Convention, and we wish them all the best for their 2016 meeting,” says Barry Smith, President and CEO of MTCC.
