Toronto, ON: For the fifth time in 15 years, Toronto is host to Canada’s largest and most comprehensive annual conference for family physicians and other health professionals as presented by the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC), the Ontario College of Family Physicians, and the CFPC’s Section of Teachers and Section of Researchers. More than 4,000 delegates from around the country will meet for Family Medicine Forum (FMF) at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC), the premier venue of choice for show organizers. The four-day conference is expected to bring an estimated $5.1 million in economic impact to the city.

“MTCC is a stunning venue in the heart of the city that can accommodate our vast meeting space and exhibit needs,” says Jennifer Campbell, Director of Conferences and Events at the CFPC. “The MTCC delivers outstanding service and their team goes above and beyond to ensure success for our staff and delegates.”

During FMF, delegates will attend educational and keynote sessions, network with colleagues, and celebrate achievements in family medicine practice, teaching, and research. More than 200 exhibitors will fill MTCC’s South Building exhibition halls, and new to this year’s event is a special feature for delegates: The Canadian Forces Role 2 Mobile Field Hospital. Just returned from recent deployments in Haiti and the Philippines, the working hospital is a one-of-a-kind display that reflects the important work of family doctors who work with the Canadian Forces around the world. “We encourage delegates to explore the city during their time here,” adds Campbell. “We anticipate they will have an incredible time overall as they experience the culture, warmth, variety, and diversity that Toronto as to offer.”

“On behalf of the entire convention centre, I’d like to extend a warm welcome to CFPC as they gather for their 15th annual meeting,” says Barry Smith, President and CEO of MTCC. “We’re thrilled to open our doors once again to this group of family physician members and health professionals so that they may continue to enrich the family medicine practice in Canada.”
