Easier than ever to “Green” your Meeting!
This month, we have introduced new sustainable meeting solutions available to event organizers. “Greening” your meeting is as simple as choosing one or all of the sustainable options we are now offering below:
  • Green Electricity: Organizers can power their events with renewable energy. Low-impact renewable energy is injected into the electricity grid to match the equivalent power used by the event.

  • Waste Diversion: Organizers can divert waste generated by their events from landfill, ensuring leftover material is reused, donated or recycled.

  • Locally Sourced Menu: Complete your Zero Waste Event by choosing to offer locally sourced food and beverages. Let our experienced catering team arrange a customized menu for your event, using fresh local ingredients the season has to offer!

  • Carbon Offsetting: MTCC provides organizers with the tools to calculate the carbon footprint of an event and connect them with third parties to offset it.

  • Community Outreach: MTCC will help facilitate partnerships with local organizations that welcome donations of materials such as food, linens, carpet or building materials.

  • Paper-less: Delegates and exhibitors can now access important conference materials and programs onsite wirelessly, through their PDAs or laptop computers.

  Bringing Art to the Community!

Through a special partnership with the Art Gallery of Ontario, the MTCC has decorated its facility with a number of unique paintings. As part of a number of enhancements to the Centre, we have decorated our space with ten pieces of artwork by contemporary Canadian artists.

Working through the AGO’s Art Rental and Sales Program, we are bringing Toronto’s thriving arts culture directly into the Metro Toronto Convention Centre – for the enjoyment of visitors and Torontonians alike! Click here for the full press release.

  Lower Simcoe Street now open!

The City of Toronto has finished replacing a large underground storm sewer catchment tank as well as the Simcoe Street extension. Simcoe Street now extends southward from Front Street through a new tunnel to cross Bremner Boulevard, and connects directly to Lakeshore Boulevard. Simcoe Street also accommodates two new southbound lanes, providing an efficient route to access the MTCC South Building.

We are no longer able to unload tractor-trailers from the street as we have in the past. For further information, please contact your Event Manager.
