TORONTO, ONTARIO, April 14, 2005 – The Metro Toronto Convention Centre today announced that it will be welcoming approximately 2,000 leaders of the world’s corporate real estate industry to the 2005 CoreNet Global Summit, to be held April 17-20, 2005.
Considered the world's premier association for corporate real estate and related professionals, CoreNet Global is a global learning organization that serves as the industry thought- and opinion-leader. The organization’s members manage US$1.2 trillion in worldwide corporate assets, totaling 700 billion square feet of owned and leased office, industrial and other space.
“CoreNet Global is very excited to be in Toronto for its 2005 Global Summit,” said CoreNet Global President and Chief Executive Officer Peggy Binzel. “The Toronto Global Summit will be the corporate real estate event of the year. It will assemble the top thinkers in the industry and provide them with the opportunity to speak to and compare information with the most knowledgeable people in the field,” she added.
The Toronto CoreNet Global Summit will examine the theme The Dynamic Enterprise: Emerging Strategies for Success, and will provide attendees with a focus on market shifts, economic trends, evolving corporate strategies and technologies, as well as the impact these topics have on corporate real estate management.
A key feature of this year’s event will be an appearance by Rudolph W. Giuliani, Chairman and CEO of Giuliani Partners LLC and former New York City Mayor, who will serve as the keynote speaker amongst a roster of world-class speakers. Giuliani is an international icon who will outline for Summit attendees the principles of leadership, sharing his experiences and the important lessons he has learned in his distinguished public service career.
CoreNet Global will also present delegates with the latest research being generated by Corporate Real Estate 2010, a special CoreNet Global program that enables corporate real estate leaders to better define their role and lead their companies in a networked world.
“We are delighted to be welcoming this international group of corporate real estate leaders to Toronto and the Metro Toronto Convention Centre,” MTCC president & CEO Barry Smith said. “Managing real estate assets effectively and efficiently is an important job for any corporation, and we are pleased to host the world’s brightest and best.”
Smith added that the MTCC anticipates this major convention will produce significant revenue for Toronto’s hotels, restaurants, shops and entertainment venues, with an overall economic impact in the range of $4.9 million in direct spending.
