The basic network connection is one Cat5 network cable run into the client’s booth or room and provides 2 fully qualified IP addresses, allowing the connection of up to 2 computers. If a client wishes to connect more than 2 computers additional IP addresses must be purchased.
If a client wishes to connect 2 or more computers they must supply a hub or switch and additional network cables. If the client does not want to provide their own equipment these items can be rented from the Technology Services department.
The client is responsible for running all cables within their booth. The Technology Services department only provides one network connection into the booth from the MTCC infrastructure.
No. Each individual booth or meeting room that requires Internet connection must order and receive a network connection from the Technology Services Department.
The Technology Services department does not allow the connection of routers, proxy servers or NAT devices to its data network. Clients connecting such devices will have their connection terminated with out refund.
The Technology Services department does not allow the connection of any 802.11 (WiFi) or other wireless access points to its data network. Clients connecting such a device will have their connection terminated without refund.
Some configuration changes may be necessary to connect to the MTCC network. The client should ensure that they have administrator access privileges for all computers that they wish to connect. It is the client’s responsibility to configure their own computers or devices. The Technology Services department will offer limited technical assistance to facilitate connection to the network.
The client’s e-mail must be web based or can be accessed from an open Internet connection. VPNs must be accessible from an open Internet connection. The Technology Services department provides a connection to the Internet and is not responsible for configuring e-mail or VPN applications.
