We are now recruiting for the following position in the Operations Department

SUSTAINABILITY COORDINATOR
1 Year Contract (Subject to Extension)

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the successful candidate will be a self-starting, flexible, motivated and organized individual who will have a commitment, knowledge and passion for environmental and sustainability issues.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Reviewing existing conservation practices to develop baseline
• Developing and launching a company wide energy conservation program
• Conducting periodic audits and statistic reports
• Promoting company recycling program through education and training and working with clients to promote and implement green meetings
• Identifying and evaluating new and innovative programs/technologies to reduce energy consumption
• Providing input on marketing and communication materials
• Developing a strategy to convert from traditional energy sources to green renewable energy, evaluating feasibility of becoming a carbon neutral company
• Working with internal stakeholders to evaluate effectiveness of existing corporate social responsibility programs and recommend enhancements, efficiencies and/or complementary programming.

Qualifications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation and public speaking
• Ability to inspire and motivate employees
• Extensive knowledge of building sustainability issues and environmental legislation
• Capacity to relate and work collaboratively with a variety of diverse individuals/groups
• Proficient web based dexterity and computer skills with MS Office
• Degree in Environmental Studies and/or equivalent work experience (1-3 years in environmental and sustainability field)
• Some variable hours at times; weekend work may be required
