The Corporate Objective and Mandate of the MTCC

The objective of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre is to provide a modern, international meeting and conference facility that contributes economically to the City of Toronto and Province of Ontario.

While doing so, we will also maintain our key values: Being an employer of choice within the hospitality industry; and respecting the quality of the natural environment.
 

Since opening in October 1984, the MTCC’s overall mandate has been:

• To position the MTCC as a world-class Convention Centre;
• To attract incremental visitors to Canada, Ontario and the Greater Metropolitan Toronto area;
• To provide a showcase for conventions, local tradeshows, public shows, meetings, and food and beverage events; and
• To operate on a cost-recovery commercial (profitable) basis over the long term.
   

Our Mission Statement

MTCC's mission is to:

• Create a climate for growth in the development of our staff within the organization;
• Develop external strategic partnerships; and to
• Take a leadership role in developing targeted and effective marketing programs to raise the profile of the Centre.

In addition, the MTCC is committed to successfully growing the business while improving the value we provide to our stakeholders.
