Corporate History

The Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC) is a Crown Corporation of the Province of Ontario and exists to maximize benefits to the people of Canada, Ontario and Toronto

The creation of MTCC was a joint venture between the Federal Government of Canada, the Province of Ontario and the Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto, and its construction was intended to help increase tourism revenue to the City and Province.

MTCC’s North Building opened for business on October 2, 1984 with the formal dedication conducted by her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
