Casual Cleaning Supervisor
 

We are currently recruiting for a Casual Cleaning Services Supervisor in our Cleaning Services Department. If you have a passion for cutomer service are personable and demonstrate the ability to maintain calm and work independently under pressure, this position is for you. 

Responsibilities:
•    Ensure that the building is maintained to highest standard of cleaning
•    Responsible for supervising and training staff
•    Effectively delegate work assignments and follow up
•    Administer and ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to, including all health and safety and WHMIS legislation.

Qualifications:
•    Five years of supervisory experience preferably with a large facility in a similar industry
•    Working knowledge of modern cleaning equipment such as power sweepers, scrubbers, and high speed floor machines
•    Fluency in English is essential
•    Excellent customer service skills
•    Solid computer skills are required

Please note that this is a casual position which will include nights and weekends.

Casual Banquet Servers
 

We are currently looking for Casual Banquet Servers for our Banquets department.

The ideal candidate is a polished, professional banquet server with a passion for customer service and hospitality.

These are casual hourly positions that include shift work on days, evenings, late nights, weekends and Holidays. Flexibility and availability to work breakfast, lunch and dinner shifts is preferable.  This position includes some heavy lifting and is in a fast paced environment.

Previous serving experience in a Hospitality environment, as well as the ability to work under pressure is essential to this position.  Knowledge of French Service is preferred. Successful candidates will have good communication and organizational skills, a neat and clean appearance, and be pleasant and courteous. Smart Serve Certification is required.

Casual Bar Porters

 Bartenders

Previous bartending experience and experience setting up and servicing Banquet Bars, as well as the ability to spending extending periods of time on foot and working with little supervision is preferable. Successful candidates will be calm, friendly and have good communication and organizational skills.

These are casual hourly positions that include shift work on days, evenings, late nights, weekends and Holidays. Smart Serve certification is required.

Casual Stewards

We are currently looking for Casual Stewards for our Stewarding department.

Applicants will be handling every type of stewarding equipment & tools, including kitchen equipment, pots, pans, trays, coffee urns, dishware, glassware, and cutlery.

This position involves lifting heavy objects up to 50 pounds in weight, pushing and pulling transportation carts such as Queen Mary wagons and standing for long periods of time. Knowledge of sanitation practices within a Kitchen environment and experience operating a dish and pot washer would be an asset.

These are casual hourly positions that include shift work on days, evenings, late nights, weekends and Holidays.  Candidates must have their own safety shoes.

Casual Stewarding Supervisor

We are currently looking for a Casual Steward Supervisor for our Stewarding department reporting to the Chief Steward and the Assistant Chief Stewards.

Responsibilities include the supervision of Stewarding staff, assisting with departmental training and orientation of new employees and existing stewards. Other duties include but are not limited to the monitoring of labour costs on a daily basis, delegating job tasks and duties to Stewarding staff as required.

Applicants are required to have at least 5 years relevant, preferably supervisory, working experience in the Stewarding / Kitchen areas within the Hospitality industry.  Previous experience in a unionized environment is required.  Excellent organizational and written / verbal communicational skills are a must.

This position requires shift work and hours will be based on business demands.

Casual Dockhands

We are currently looking for Casual Dockhands for our Docks department to work move-ins/outs of conventions, trade & consumer shows and theatre productions. 

Reporting to the Docks Supervisors, the successful candidates will monitor traffic flow of the Docks area during move-ins/outs, install/hang blackout drapes, communicate with various departments and contractors, ensure that inspections of the loading facilities are completed as required, and work in a safe manner. Some heavy lifting and/or carrying is required, as is the ability to work in all weather conditions.

These are casual on-call positions requiring day, night, evening or weekend work as per the demands of the department.

Casual Housepersons
 

We are currently looking for Casual Housepersons for our Event Services department.

The ideal candidate has experience in a similar environment dealing with large functions/shows and a passion for customer service and hospitality.

Responsibilities include setting up and taking down equipment for events and maintaining all equipment and keeping them in good repair. Heavy lifting and strenuous activity involved.  Training in proper lifting techniques and forklift operation prefferable.
