We’re committed to providing a completely barrier-free, fully-accessible facility for people with disabilities.
We fully support the standards set by the Accessibility of Ontarians Disabilities Act (AODA) as well as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and are very happy to say that our facility complies with all regulations.
State-of-the-Art Equipment at MTCC
Our 'Spect-A-Lift' hydraulic wheelchair-lift helps with access to a stage or head table, adjusting automatically and quietly to platform height. The lift is fully and easily portable with self-contained wheels.
Our 'New Dimension' portable floor-lectern holds a wheelchair while providing presenter with an appropriate line-of-sight to the audience. Ergonomically designed for maximum comfort, the lectern also features a reading light and built-in shade.

We have six wheelchairs readily available on a first-come, first-served basis at our Guest Services desks in the North and South buildings.
If your group could use more wheelchairs, please speak to your Event Manager who will be happy to help.
To ensure total accessibility we’ve installed several elevators, each capable of accommodating two people in wheelchairs plus attendants.
All our washrooms are completely accessible and have 24-hour automated door openers.
Also, our unisex washrooms are roomy enough for a person with special needs plus an attendant, as well for families with young children in strollers.
Amplified public telephones are located throughout our facility. Lower-height, wheelchair-accessible telephones are also prevalent.
Our 24/7 Security Central Control Centre is located on parking entrance level 4A in the North Building.
All security personnel are fully certified in fire safety, first aid, CPR and the use of defibrillators.
Our North and South parking lots have 17 designated accessible spaces, and there are three expectant mother/stroller spots in the North lot. All these spots have direct elevator access to the MTCC.
The weather-protected lots are also well lit, open 24/7, and security patrolled. All parking garage doors leading to the elevators have automated openers.
