Toronto, ON: The Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC) congratulates Executive Chef Duff Lampard on being honoured as a Fellow of the Ontario Hostelry Institute (OHI) today at the OHI Gold Awards Dinner. OHI Fellows are recognized for their lifetime achievements and significant contributions to the hospitality industry.
With over 20 years of experience in some of the most reputable hotels across Canada, Chef Duff has been highly acknowledged in the culinary world with his talent for innovative menu design and by successfully leading fine dining productions. After his tenure as a professor at George Brown College, Chef Duff became Executive Chef at the Westin Harbour Castle and oversaw the successful execution of food service for high-profile events such as the G-20.
In 2014, he moved to the helm in the kitchen at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and created upscale, restaurant quality menus not typical of the North American convention scene. As Executive Chef, he embraces his passion for global cuisine, local ingredients, and classic cooking methods.
Chef Duff joins two MTCC team members who were previously recognized as Fellows by OHI, Barry Smith, President and CEO, and Richard Willett, Vice President of Food and Beverage.
“Chef Duff brings exceptional culinary talent and attention to detail to every event”, said Barry Smith, President and CEO of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. “He plays an integral role in making every event memorable by bringing unmatched quality and customization to our food and beverage service.”
“It gives me great pleasure to see our industry recognize Chef Duff for his contribution over the years”, said Richard Willett, Vice President of Food and Beverage at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. “His expertise and innovative talent allows us to raise the bar and create exciting, diverse food and beverage offerings that leave a great impression.”
